Davidsonville and Harwood Get Two Last Pumpkin Weekends Before the Lights Come On

Which weekend is the last pumpkin weekend in Davidsonville and Harwood? There are two, a week apart. Fall wraps up along Route 2 first and on West Central Avenue second. Five days after that, the holiday season opens on the same Homestead Gardens grounds that held the hay mazes.

Between October 24 and November 21, the calendar has two final pumpkin weekends and a run of November evenings that start the holidays well before Thanksgiving. Here is the order, with times.

The Two Last Weekends

Davidsonville's two big fall festivals don't close on the same weekend. Knightongale Farm in Harwood ends first. Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville keeps going for one more weekend.

Knightongale Farm Fall Fest Homestead Gardens Fall Family Weekends
Location 3924 Solomons Island Road, Harwood 743 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville
Final weekend October 24–25 October 31–November 1
Hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission $13.95 online, $15.95 at the gate $15 per person, $5 off for seniors 55+
Free entry Age 2 and under Age 3 and under

The weekend of October 24 and 25 is your last chance to visit both. From October 26 on, Homestead is the only one still running.

Route 2 Closes First

Knightongale sits where Route 2 meets Birdsville Road in Harwood. Its Fall Fest runs weekends only, and October 24 and 25 are the last two days on the 2026 schedule.

Each day has its own music. Saturday, October 24, has a DJ all day. Sunday, October 25, has the Ryan Keith Band from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The vendor list changes a little from day to day. Both days include Bruster's Ice Cream, Pherm Brewing, Miss B and Pathfinder Farm Distillery. Gray Wolf Spirits joins them on Sunday.

The ticket covers the corn maze, hayrides, barnyard basketball, pedal tractors, a jump pad, the 40-foot Mega Slide and the petting animals. Pony rides, face painting and food cost extra. Buying online saves $2 a ticket. The farm also lists discounts for military, first responders and seniors.

Weather can change the plan. Knightongale closed on Sunday, October 11, and gave anyone with a prepaid ticket a coupon code to come back another day. October 25 is the last day on the schedule, so a rainy final Sunday has no make-up weekend behind it, so check the farm's page before you head out.

Central Avenue Gets the Last Hayride

Homestead Gardens' Fall Family Weekends go one weekend longer, through Sunday, November 1. That makes Halloween weekend the last pumpkin weekend in Davidsonville and Harwood this year.

Homestead's version is designed for children 12 and under. It's spread across the Barnyard and the East Field. A wristband covers tractor hayrides, a large hay maze and a separate kids' hay maze, the Pumpkin Express and Pollinator Express, pumpkin painting and pumpkin bowling, several inflatables, a sandbox, face painting, axe throwing, and barnyard animals including goats and pigs. Pony rides run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a shorter window than the rest of the day.

Homestead strongly encourages buying tickets online ahead of time. It says only a limited number of day-of tickets may be available at the entrance, depending on capacity. The final weekend is now the only fall festival weekend left in the area, so plan on that limit.

Next to the fall festival, Homestead also has a brewery that keeps going after the hayrides end. The Beer Farm is the brewery on the Homestead property at 743 West Central Avenue. Its posted schedule runs Wednesday through Sunday. The brewery's own pages list different Friday and Saturday closing times, and one page describes it as open seven days a week. Check its current hours before an evening visit.

Jug Bay Runs Through the Change of Seasons

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in neighboring Lothian keeps its calendar going across both seasons, covering the last farm weekends and the days after the last hayride on November 1.

The sanctuary's October calendar has a few public programs that fall around the farm weekends:

  • Saturday, October 24, 9:30 a.m. Women on the Water, a kayak outing, the same morning as Knightongale's last Saturday.
  • Friday, October 30, 5:30 p.m. The Halloween Critter Crawl, the evening before Halloween.
  • Saturday, November 7, 7 a.m. A Jug Bay bird walk, the morning after the Holiday Preview Party.
  • Saturday, November 7, 3 p.m. Magnificent Marsh Mammals.

The sanctuary has grown, too. Its newest property is the Emory Waters Nature Preserve, where paddlers launch from the Emory Waters pier to explore Lyons Creek. Jug Bay posts registration for its programs on the calendar, so sign up there before you go.

November 6: Same Address, a New Season

The Holiday Preview Party is Friday, November 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Homestead Gardens Davidsonville and at the Severna Park store. It's five days after the last pumpkin weekend, on the same West Central Avenue grounds.

Homestead calls this evening the start of the holiday season at all three of its locations. The stores are redone with themed trees, door and table displays, model trains, lights, music and refreshments. Garden Rewards members get 25% off their purchase that night, and some departments have their own sales. If you were planning to join the program anyway, sign up before November 6.

The Davidsonville store has its own evening on Wednesday, November 18. The Holiday Girls Night Out runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with 17 themed Christmas trees on display and a 25% shopping discount, with some exclusions.

Grand Illumination, by the Clock

The busiest night of the season is Saturday, November 21. Grand Illumination takes place only at the Davidsonville store, with more than 250,000 lights across the grounds. The posted schedule moves from the store to the brewery and back, so it helps to know where to be when:

  1. 12 p.m. The Beer Farm opens, hours before the main event.
  2. 5 p.m. The holiday showroom opens for the evening, with 20% off Christmas lighting and window candles.
  3. 5 to 5:45 p.m. Annapolis Blend sings carols inside Homestead Gardens.
  4. 5:45 p.m. The lighting festivities move outside, near the brewery.
  5. 6:10 p.m. Santa arrives.
  6. 6:15 p.m. The tree lighting ceremony.
  7. 7 p.m. Food trucks stop serving.
  8. 8 p.m. The Homestead Gardens store closes.
  9. 9 p.m. The brewery closes.

There's one thing to watch in that schedule. The food trucks stop at 7 p.m., less than an hour after the tree lighting, while the store stays open until 8 and the brewery until 9. If dinner is part of your plan, eat before the lights come on.

The same night kicks off Homestead's Make-A-Wish Campaign and Toy Drive, with star displays at both locations.

The Trees Wait for Thanksgiving

The lights go on at Homestead on November 21, and tree cutting starts nearby a week later. Holiday Memories Farm, at 4848 Muddy Creek Road in West River, has 2026 cut-your-own and pre-cut tree dates starting Friday, November 27. That's the day after Thanksgiving, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It continues November 28 and 29, then December 5 and 6. No RSVP is needed.

So in this corner of Anne Arundel County, the holiday season opens at Homestead Gardens three weeks before Thanksgiving, and the tree farms follow after the holiday. Knightongale also lists Christmas trees among its seasonal offerings, so watch its site for dates once Fall Fest ends on October 25.
